The RDC telematics platform is the software and equipment complex including the following:
NIS GLONASS Objectives:
- Telematics server;
- NIS-BusinessSolution® software of the telematics server;
- Cartographic module;
- Electronic maps;
- Specialized basic dispatching software (CyberFleet®/NIS-CityBus®/NIS-Security Systems/NIS-H&U Enterprise ®/NIS-H&U Administration®) for a dispatcher workplace.
The software and equipment complex is based on the "client-server" concept, using WEB technology in specific cases.Besides, the software is continuously enhanced based on customer requirements.
Main functions
Main functions of the RDC telematics platform can be divided into three conventional groups: monitoring functions, management functions and functions of information storage and interaction with external information systems (IS).Monitoring function includes:
- Automatic determination of navigation parameters of objects and the state of objects by readings at monitoring devices.
- Automatic transfer of navigation and other information about objects to dispatcher offices at the set intervals of time (periodicity from 10 seconds and up).
- Automatic saving of the navigation and object state information into the non-volatile memory of subscriber stations in case of communication channel loss.
Control functions
- Forming of control area regions on electronic maps for tracing of object movements.
- Control and analysis of the actual traveled distance of vehicles for certain time intervals.
- Transfer of dispatcher commands to operation units of objects (engine blocking, emergency signals turn-on, driver call, additional equipment operation).
- Dispatcher voice communication with objects and automatic logging of all operations at dispatcher offices.
Information storage and exchange functions
- Storage of information in one database (MS SQL or Interbase).
- Conversion of information into a format compatible with user information systems (IS).
- Data exchange with user ISs.
- Creation of databases in a format of user archives.
